Lubrication means that make lubricant applied to the relative motion surface of rubbing pair of mechanical equipment to form and retain proper lubricant film. Centralized lubrication means that oil is supplied to equipment lubrication points according to actual needs by making use of a complete set of oil feeding unit. The application of centralized lubrication has the following functions: reduce frictional resistance, reduce surface abrasion, temperature reduction and cooling, corrosion prevention, shock absorption, sealing, etc.
●Lubrication Characteristics
To reduce the abrasion of rubbing pair, properly clean lubricant film shall be retained on the surface of rubbing pair. That is to say, maintain the constant oil feed between friction surfaces to form oil film, which is the optimal characteristic of continuous oil feed (constant flow rate).
However, the oil demand of some small bearings is only 1~2 drops per hour, and it is very difficult to realize continuous oil feed at certain proportion by general lubrication equipment. In fact, just as insufficient oil feed, excessive oil feed is also harmful (for example, some bearings will produce additional heat when excessive oil feed). A lot of experiments have proved that discontinuous but frequent oil feed is the optimal mode. Therefore, when continuous oil feed becomes improper, economical periodic system can be adopted. The system of this mode can make the quantitative lubricating oil fed to the lubrication points constantly as the predetermined cycle, making the rubbing pair have proper lubricant film.
Generally speaking, lubrication by periodic lubrication system can be applicable to the rubbing pair of most machinery. The rubbing pair adopting continuous lubrication system is only applicable to the circumstance that the machine runs continuously and the load is very high, such as punching machine, large boring machine, milling planer, hobbing machine, etc.
Therefore, the following points shall be given attention to when type selection of lubrication system:
⒈Periodic lubrication system shall be adopted under most circumstances;
⒉Both excessive and insufficient oil is harmful to rubbing pair;
⒊If periodic lubrication system is selected, then meter units shall be used to control the oil feed amount of the rubbing pair; if continuous lubrication system is adopted, then control units shall be used to control the oil feed amount of the rubbing pair.
●System Composition
“Hurun” lubrication system comprises the following parts:
⒈Lubrication pump- provide lubrication medium according to actual needs.
⒉Distribution member- distribute the lubrication medium quantitatively according to actual needs.
⒊Accessories - pipe joint, flexible hose (or rigid pipe), distribution block, etc.
⒋Control system- It comprises such control members as electronic program controller, pressure switch, liquid level switch, etc. The functions are as follows: make lubrication pump work periodically according to the predetermined requirements; control over the start and stop time of the lubrication pump and system; monitor the system pressure and liquid level of oil tank and give an alarm; display the working status of the system.
●System Classification
The centralized lubrication system can be classified into lubricating oil lubrication and lubricating grease lubrication based on different lubrication mediums; and can be classified into SLR system, PDI lubrication system, progressive lubrication system, spray lubrication system and oil-air lubrication system based on different distribution members of the system.
The normal lubricating oil lubrication system of “Hurun” is mainly described in this manual.
